Chapter 428 - Family Fight

Chapter 428 – Family Fight

For the first time in a very very long time, Huishe Nan was actually at a loss for words. He had no experience dealing with the younger generation and for some reason, his brain would always be slower allowing Qilin Hao to stomp him speechless.

"Ahem… that," said Huishe Nan but before he could explain further his wife interjected,

"Ah-Fei already stabbed that person the very same way your son was," she explained recalling the gruesome scene that happened a few days after they brought Rui Fei back to their clan. For some reason, Rui Fei had seen that subordinate in the Villa and a big fight broke out.

Rui Fei refused to let that man go unless he stabs through his aether the same way the man stabbed into Ji Yao. Feeling a little guilty Huishe Nan had asked Rui Fei to stab him instead since he was the one that gave the order. But Rui Fei still wouldn\'t barge. He wanted the person who hurt his lover to pay the price.

Since they could heal the man Huishe Nan could only wrong him in order to appease his grandson. At that time he had actually thought Rui Fei wouldn\'t go through with it but he was horribly wrong.

That kid\'s face changed into something that could only be described as a monster and directly stabbed the man\'s aether with the intent to kill. If Huishe Nan wasn\'t there to revive him immediately he would have most definitely died as the attack was especially ruthless.

The man might have been saved but it left a psychological effect on him so much so that he voluntarily resigned. If it had just ended there it would have been understandable as the saying goes \'an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth\' but Rui Fei wasn\'t done.

He stabbed the man two more times without his grandfather\'s consent causing the man to lose his sanity. It may sound ridiculous that someone can get stabbed till they lose their minds but that\'s what actually happened.

Rui Fei was like an evil psychotic killer in a horror movie when he drove the blade of the sword through the man\'s body terrifying even Huishe Nan. But he also understood his grandson because he might have done the same thing if something happened to his wife.

Qilin Hao\'s gaze shifted to the clan leader\'s wife and said, "Once wouldn\'t be enough to compensate my son," smiling icily.

But the smile on Qilin Hao\'s face stiffened when Huishe Shushi raised three fingers. "Once with my husband\'s permission and twice at random…. the last two times it was obvious he wanted to kill him."

Qilin Hao was a little surprised. She didn\'t think that Rui Fei was as protective of Ji Yao as she was. This was news to her, good enough news to improve her impression of Rui Fei.

"Okay, I will accept that… and as for the issue of them staying with you, I would much prefer they live on their own. If they stay with either of their families it might affect their relationship," she earnestly said but this old fashioned couple didn\'t like the idea.

"They don\'t have to stay in our villa but a separate courtyard in our clan. That way your concerns are taken care of," replied Huishe Nan but Qilin Hao\'s face only got uglier.

Before she could even come up with a response Ji Wen who had been looking for a map of the imperial city walked in. In one hand he held a map and in the other, he held a piece of water chestnut cake he had gotten from who knows where.

Slamming the map on the table causing other papers to flutter he asked, "What\'s the problem?" as he sat in the chair next to Qilin Hao.

When he sat down he fed half of the dessert in his hand to Qilin Hao. She naturally turned her face towards him taking a bite with no hint of bashfulness or timidity like they had done this dozens of times in front of people before.

Qilin Hao\'s teeth lightly bit Ji Wen\'s fingers and he naturally teased her for it. "If you eat my fingers how will I be able to perform my magic trick again later?" he whispered with a smitten look on his face that is until he was pinched from under the table, "Aah… that hurts."

Qilin Hao who was still wearing a placid look was suddenly blushing with a lowered head. Her face remained emotionless but her cheeks sold her out.

"Uh…..," was the sound that came out of Huishe Yue\'s mouth having understood what sort of magic Ji Wen needed his fingers to do. It seemed he wasn\'t the only one on his side of the table who understood what Ji Wen meant. The few Nocru behind him also understood and suppressed the urge to raise the corners of their lips.

Qilin Luse on the other hand wished the ground will just open up and swallow him whole. He had once overheard what sort of sounds his boss made as she sincerely praised Ji Wen\'s fingers when he was passing by.

Thus he clearly understood at this moment what Ji Wen was referring to. He wished he could just bury his head in sand right now. Hei Ying on his side actually wished he could hear more details but he would never take the initiative to ask about it though his curiosity was clearly written on his face.

It was only the two elders seated opposite this pair of lovebirds that seemed clueless. Huishe Nan really wanted to know what they were all snickering about but because he was a prominent clan leader and was supposed to act dignified he had to pretend like he didn\'t care.

He cleared his throat loudly like an old man reprimanding youngsters in public. Their slightly quirked lips straightened and the muffled snickers vanished with the room falling into silence. Ji Wen ate the rest of the water chestnut cake while Qilin Hao pointed at the characters on the paper written by the Huishe clan.

Ji Wen clenched his fist and placed it on his mouth as his brows creased tighter as he continued reading. The sweetness in his mouth didn\'t taste good anymore. It was as though he had sawdust in his mouth.

As it slid down his throat it felt like he was swallowing a block of concrete. After reading it he shook his head placing the paper down on the table. "It\'s not happening," he said his expression stern but from underneath the table, his leg was shaking in nervousness.

Qilin Hao\'s fingers grasped his knee to calm him down. She could understand how he was feeling right now.. Ji Wen had raised Ji Yao and held a deep connection with him which meant that he wouldn\'t be as accepting of Ji Yao not only moving away but moving to an entirely different world, a place that was incredibly difficult to get to.
