Chapter 209 - He Hit Me...
Loud cracking sounds filled the air as the blazing smokeless flame rose higher and higher. At this moment Red Bane was completely out of view. There was no way of telling whether it had sailed on ahead or it was still where it was before.
Rui Fei who had been hiding from Ji Yao for the past few days sprung up on his feet fear written all over his face. He got so angry that day and after cooling off a little he felt so bad. He regretted walking out on Ji Yao like that but he couldn\'t turn back time.
Embarrassed to go over and admit that he overreacted, he camped out on Lan Wu\'s ship for a couple of days which was really hard for this Huishe cub. His uncle tried several times to get him to leave but Rui Fei wasn\'t going anywhere clearly exhibiting his cowardly side.
But who would have thought Ji Yao would actually leave him behind and go at this task alone? Yes, it was stupid of him to run off like that but did Ji Yao have to leave him behind. Terrified out of his mind he made a move to jump into the sea covered with the raging flames.
Huishe Yue who was dazedly staring at the majestic eternal flames saw his stupid nephew try to jump into the sea from his peripheral view and made a move to stop him. This time he used all his strength to hold him back.
He had personal experience with a Qilin\'s eternal flame and knew how much damage it could inflict on Huishe. Unwilling to let his twin sister\'s only child suffer such grievance he held on to him like his very life depended on it.
In fact, it did because if his father was ever to find about Rui Fei\'s existence and that he (Huishe Yue) failed to protect him the old man would skin him alive. This was the only offspring of his little princess so of course, he would treasure him.
Rui Fei was difficult to hold back. His face was extremely distraught as he fought back with all his might. He regretted walking away from Ji Yao. He regretted it so much that he didn\'t care for the flames intending to jump in straight without any regard for the consequences.
He vowed never to walk away from Ji Yao whether it be in anger or embarrassment. He would rather stick to him lest he pulls such a trick again. It was as he said before, "They live together, they die together." This is why he was willing to jump in.
Somehow Huishe Yue managed to trip Rui Fei onto the ground and restrained him as he yelled, "You can\'t just jump in," but Rui Fei was only getting angrier.
An intense minacious murk escaped from his body and his fierce eyes turned a silvery grey colour which was an indication that this cub was about to lose his shit.
"Let me go," he spoke in a deep harsh voice but Huishe Yue wasn\'t going to let him go. He would rather fight him to death than let him go. Unfortunately, his nephew was no longer his match more so especially when it involved Ji Yao.
Huishe Yue engaged his aether as well and a black fog with multiple appendages emerged from his back aiming at Rui Fei in a threatening way. "If you get in there the consequences will be severe... now calm down," he said but who was he kidding?
Rui Fei\'s expression eased for a moment giving Huishe Yue the illusion that he had gotten through to him which he hadn\'t. At this point, Huishe Yue relaxed a little only to be suddenly struck in his left shoulder by a formidable force. By the time he realised what was happening it was already too late.
Rui Fei was especially ruthless in his attack almost breaking his collarbone. His body was pushed back from the attack and by the time he regained his senses, Rui Fei was gone. He was left sitting on the ground his hand on his shoulder with a grim expression.
Lan Wu who earlier on couldn\'t intervene between these two titans came to his aid while the rest of the crew stood against the railing of the ship looking down at the blazing sea but Rui Fei was nowhere to be found.
Lan Wu knelt beside him to check his wound. He removed Huishe Yue\'s hand to take a look. Slowly peeling off the lapel of Huishe Yue\'s robe his heart sank as he saw the nasty looking bruise like he had been hit by a car. Lan Wu grimaced feeling for Huishe Yue.
This uncle and nephew pair played too dirty, they needed to play nice otherwise they will end up killing each other.
He was about to scold Huishe Yue for being too ruthless when Huishe Yue suddenly changed his expression into a pitiful one before leaning into his arms. "Wu-er, he hit me... ah, it hurts so much. I need you to take care of me from now on. I think he crippled my hand," said Huishe Yue completely disregarding the seriousness of this situation.
His father would kill him when he finds out so why not enjoy being pampered now and suffer later? He was a dead man anyway.
Lan Wu, "....."
For all his life he never thought he would get involved with a drama king who had the talent to act pitiful. Unfortunately, this was neither the time nor place to cater to this cry baby as proven by the appearance of Lady Ching Sei and Zhang Li onboard Lan Wu\'s ship.
"Stop with the dog food Lan Wu... we have a king to find," said Lady Ching Sei walking past the two.
Lan Wu who had been accused of public display of affection followed her figure with his widened eyes. What dog food? He was obviously being bullied here, okay?
No, not okay. Huishe Yue especially disliked Lan Wu\'s attention being elsewhere so he wordlessly pulled Lan Wu\'s chin to face him.
Zhang Li who was lovelorn couldn\'t help walking over to interpret Huishe Yue\'s expression. Unfolding one of his arms he pointed at Lady Ching Sei while whispering, "Keep your eyes off her and instead keep them on him, okay?"
But as soon as he finished that sentence he felt something burn a hole through his skin like acid. Curious where this intense pressure was coming from he raised his head only to be met by Lady Ching Sei\'s burning gaze.
It seemed she had heard the conversation. Zhang Li felt his fragile heart ache at her stare. No matter how many times he got scolded by her he couldn\'t be rid of his feelings. As the saying goes the heart wants what it wants.
She shifted her gaze back to the blaze and said, "I don\'t know whether to call your nephew stupid or brave.... I sincerely hope the saying fortune favours fools is true," with a grim expression.
"An hour is too much. Ho-how about we go around it.. It spans about ten kilometres," suggested Zhang Li now standing beside her.
